About Gina
Gina Cenciose is a woman in her forties now, who has dedicated her life to healing, personal transformation and growth. Her determination and courage to heal herself so that she can embody loving kindness, joy and lightness of being has been her daily bread. Her specialties include:
- Deep transformation of consciousness work
- NVC in intimate relationships
- NVC and healing work
- Living from the "Fullness of Needs" work
Gina is a Certified Trainer for the Center for NonViolent Communication, who has been living and teaching this process full time as her profession since 2002. She has been working with groups and individuals on their healing paths since 1996, using many healing modalities she has studied such as:
- Shamanic Healing Processes
- Applied Kinesiology
- Art Therapy (especially music)
- Shadow Work
- Scott Peck’s community building process
- Transformative Belief Work
- Focusing
Two of her mentors have been:
- Eckart Tolle
- Adyashanti
Early on she realized her behavior was not meeting all of her needs and embarked on a very deep healing journey through trauma work, meditation, self inquiry, and studying with Eckhart Tolle, Marshall Rosenberg, and many many others. After meeting Marshall Rosenberg and translating and studying with him she began to be asked to share NonViolent Communication (NVC) in both English and French all over Canada. Since then this has been her main profession, and she has shared NVC in a wide variety of settings including:
- Businesses
- Schools
- Faith Communities
- Prisons
- Hospitals
- Nonprofits
She enjoys sharing NVC everywhere, especially in prisons, where she has facilitated NVC trainings and held the space for 3-day empathy circles. As the very active, passionate and energetic trainer that she is, Gina co-founded a year-long program for young mothers and their children from violent situations; teaching them NVC, gardening, drumming, dancing and "Coming back to Life" practices in a social project called "Tools for Life." In this program, the mothers were actually paid by the federal government to learn NVC and to connect with the life within them in a way that could help move them out of victimhood into assuming greater responsibility for the quality of their lives – Gina’s expertise.
As co-founder of the Quebec Circle of Certified Trainers, she currently runs seven different year-long programs in English and/or French for participants to fully integrate NVC into their bones, as she has done. In these programs, she combines the teachings of Eckhart Tolle (whom she has shared many days with) with the practices of Focusing and Inquiry with a special focus on Transforming consciousness from "lack" to "fullness," and the deep transformation of the beliefs we hold in our unconscious minds. PRESENCE is the basis of all of her work and play.
Gina also leads Empathy Circles, which are a mix of Community Building Circles and NVC that Gina has founded and led many people in for 10 years now. One of her passions is implementing Dominic Barter’s Restorative Circles into communities of all kinds, families and businesses. She has had great success in this work. For those wishing to share NVC professionally, Gina acts as an assessor, which is a certifying coordinator for candidates for certification with the International Center for NVC, and as a mentor for people wanting to share NVC as well.
A lifelong passion for singing and music has been a major part of her life, and she leads singing groups of various types, with her voice and her drum, notably evenings of Empathy and Music where she leads participants through the self empathy process and accompanies them with Rumi poems set to music and spoken. She leads Dances of Universal Peace at her workshops and events.
The beauty of human beings never ceases to amaze her and inspires her to broaden and deepen her connection to all of life, starting from within. The thing that is the most important to her is to walk her talk and to be in full alignment: words, thoughts and actions, as much as she can, moment by moment.
